Opus XVI Sings Shakespeare

On the anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth and death on 23 April 2016, Opus XVI Chamber Choir held a concert in celebration of Shakespeare’s life. The highlight of the concert was the first performance of “For Mr Shakespeare”, commissioned by the choir and composed by Gordon Carr, who has written many striking and memorable works for Opus XVI.

“For Mr Shakespeare” was no exception, and a big audience was held spellbound by the inventiveness and delight of these new settings to Shakespeare’s words.
